Things I’m not able to digest on the scale of Hamas’ attack on Israel!

For those who are new to the Arab-Israeli conflict, the attack of Hamas on Israel might be “just another” terrorist attack, but for people who fall into another category like me, I’m super confident that you are shocked and amused by the scale of attack Hamas had on Israel after like ages.

Some experts call this attack as “Pearl Harbour moment”, while others call it as “9/11 moment” because that was the scale of this bloody attack.

Before I begin with, I’m taking neither side of cruelty as far as this war is concerned, but my personal take is “Hamas has just opened the gate of hell!”

Being someone who has been closely monitoring the Arab-Israeli conflict for nearly a decade now, below are the series of things that I’m finding absolutely in-digestive, viz;

  1. Failure of Pegasus Spy Software -
Pegasus spyware

The Pegasus software is a spying virus that can infiltrate a targeted mobile phone and get access to the targeted phone quite literally. Once this virus is injected into the target phone, you can access phone numbers, call logs, internet search history, passwords, social media access, text messages, and cameras without the user’s knowledge.

Israel keeps an eye on all its enemy neighbors and its surveillance is exceptionally tall and obtrusive. Especially on terror wings like Hamas, Hezbollah, PLO, and all others.

What is killing our brain is how the Pegasus surveillance went detectionless when the preparation and planning for this attack stood at such an enormous scale. The preparation of ammunition and resources might have been months together planning, but still, Israel went information-less during such a massive planning.

2. Iron Dome — To what extent can it guard Israel?

Iron Dome — Wiki

Since Israel is surrounded by enemies, their topmost priority always remained to be advanced military technology and a defense system that would guard them round the clock. With the help of their biggest ally, the United States of America, the state of Israel came up with this counter-missile defense system called “Iron Dome”, back in 2011.

The Iron Dome is a ground-to-air short-range air defense system that intercepts rockets, missiles, or unmanned aerial vehicles and shoots them in mid-air detecting the trajectory of the weapon that is on air. This has a range of 70 km.

Over the years, Hamas or Hezbollah always faced challenges with outsmarting their rocket launch toward Israel because of the Iron Dome, but guess what? Over the period, even terror outfits brainstormed and came up with a plan to outsmart the machine, and that’s what exactly happened in this attack.

Hamas fired ~ 5000 rockets at Israel within a staggering timeframe of 20 odd minutes!!!

The Israel Iron Dome has never intercepted such an astonishing number of rockets within such a short span. This is obviously overwhelming to the machine, and that’s how Hamas one-upped here!

3. Mossad — Israel’s most notorious External Intelligence Agency.

For those who know even the least about the Israeli Mossad, the first thing that crossed their mind would be — “How can this happen under the eyes of Mossad?”

So was it with me!

Mossad is known for infiltrating the enemy home, gathering extremely sensitive and important information, and performing ruthless operations that are beyond enemy lines.

The first question that arose in my mind when I heard of God-damn “5000 rockets” being fired at Israel was, how did Mossad go information-less when these enormous numbers of rockets were being procured, transported, and installed? I still remain in shock at this unanswered question!

For those folks to whom the name “Mossad” is new, I’m telling you it’s because of Mossad, countries like Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine have NO access to nuclear weapons.

If you ask me, it was a direct failure of Mossad! It’s nothing just the CIA moment for Mossad aftermath of this attack.

4. Mista’arvim or Musta’arabi: The elite undercover agents of IDF.

Mista’arvim operatives nab a stone pelter in Gaza

These are the Israeli undercover agents who are specifically trained to pose as Palestinians/ Arabs in order to infiltrate deep into the Arab community, outsmart them with intelligence, and pass on crucial information to Tel Aviv.

Some of the active Mista’arvim units across Israel are-

- Ya’mas — Which operates in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Jerusalem.

- Duvdevan (Unit 217) — Operates in the West Bank division.

- Gideonim (Unit 33) — Operates in Eastern Jerusalem.

These undercover units have always stood as an asset to IDF when it comes to the flow of crucial information, but what went wrong this time?

Did the Hamas outsmart IDF so well that even the Mista’arvim agents couldn’t analyze the scale of attacks that Hamas planned?

The answer is still a mystery!

5. Shin Bet — The hyperactive security agency that controls the borders.

Shin-Bet officers!

I so wish the Shin-Bet at least had a whiff of something being cooked when Hamas used all the logistics to stack up thousands of rockets, activated hundreds of paragliding pieces of equipment, and also made a ton of boats ready for something big.

The historical statistics of Israel have always taught us the contributions of Shin-bet intelligence that makes their military operations come out in flying covers!

It’s sad Hamas even outfoxed the Shin-Bet eyes as well, and how did they that will always be an open-ended question!

6. The Israeli-Saudi peace deal: The plot of Iran to disturb this!

It’s an open secret that Saudi Arabia will stand tallest when it comes to all the Muslim-dominated nations, but it’s also true that Saudi- — Iran has had no good relations since the early 70s.

Saudi and Iran always had this friction because Saudi is the biggest Sunni country & Iran happens to be the biggest Shia country.

The odds are supremely high that Iran wanted to sabotage the deal that would get finalized between Israel & Saudi, and post which, the disturbance of large scale wouldn’t be easily possible.

It is also said that the “go-ahead” for this attack was given by Iran in Beirut just weeks ago, which is again an intelligence failure.

7. Possible cyber-attack from Iran? — We’ll never know!

Israel is known for their godlike sophisticated defense and surveillance systems along the borders which couldn’t even come to their rescue during this attack.

The Hamas fighters created a storm by cutting through the border fences, while hundreds of them landed in the Israeli territory through paragliders. What is surprising is that the most advanced surveillance system, ground motion sensors, and border surveillance cameras did not pick up any movement at the border areas, when Hamas militants were crossing in, for Israel to react on time.

A security breach of this scale has never happened in Israel’s history, so if you were to ask me to suspect someone, it would be a cyberattack from Tehran!

8. When you get too lost in anti-government protests!

It’s an open secret that people went gaga over the recent protest against Israel’s current government. But what turned out to be worse is that top bureaucracy officers, and intelligence heads joined in.

Protesting the government is democratically fine, but the defense experts say, this is what happens when you side-line your job and focus more on unwanted.

When the entire Israel was focusing on something that’s more important than security, Hamas, unfortunately, made them realize it’s a very bad idea to lose their focus on terror outfits that surround Israel!

Period.

It brings chill to see too what happened in Israel days ago, and what’s happening in Gaza currently!

Hope peace prevails over weapons, sooner or later.

That’s the wrap now.

Thanks for the read.
